Halloween 2013 cartoony black widow design

Hello ladies. This is what I came up with for this year's halloween, after a very failed attempt to make some acrylic pumpkins on my nails..blah...(never doing that again)

This one's pretty time consuming because of the web that is a little more detailed and overlayed with glitter. Here are the materials used :

And here's a short step by step on how I painted the web if I'm too fast in the tutorial video

Enjoy! Happy Halloween!

Born pretty store review for the kolinsky acrylic brush + tutorial for golden flowers design

Hello ladies. I recently purchased a super pretty acrylic brush from bornprettystore.com. I opted for a nr2 because it seems like the perfect size for sculpting on the nails and I never get a full acrylic mani, I prefer gel for that. You can find it at this link here >clicky clicky< $2.86 for such a pretty brush with kolinsky bristles is exceptional. They have many sizes available from the same series or you can get the whole bundle.

I'm a complete noob, so my sculpting is not good enough but I found it really easy to use. Here is a list of pros . I have no cons at all

  • The bristles are very soft and hold just the perfect amount of liquid
  • The design of the brush is very pretty it looks like it has rhinestones on it
  • The handle is ergonomic
  • The bristles are hard enough to handle pressure even on the sides so you can create the perfect 3D design
  • Low price
  • The shipping was free and it took 2 weeks. From hong kong thats fast
  • Best of all, if you're an active customer of born pretty store, you can get this wonderful brush with points
You can use the code DNLW10 for a 10% discount on everything you get on the website.

Now, on the design part. Here's all the materials I used and links on where to get them.

Disco ball

Came up with this design after listening to the old Lady Gaga songs from The fame monster, when she sounded a little disco. So I can say this is a little gaga inspired. Anyway, here's the list with the products I used and where to get them online for a bargain price.

Polishes:

  • Born Pretty holo polish nr 2 get it here
  • LA colors Art deco- black
  • LA colors Art deco- glitter silver
  • Top coat
Materials:

I have 5 different designs, every nail is different, with the middle one as accent nail in a disco ball pattern. Took no time to make it. The only time consuming part is alining the steel beads and putting the glitter on one by one. Used a marbling tool to do it. They wouldn't come off my orange stick so I gave up on it. Is worth it in the end, the perfect sparkly party nails. For me, they're just casual

Design with bows, polka dots and lace stickers

A very cute design I made for stilleto nails. As usual I'm wearing tips. I got new ones and these are so comfortable it feels just like a natural nail. Here's a list with the materials I used and links where to get them if you're interested or looking for something similar. Everything I use is cheap, but quality is amazing.

Polishes: LA colors- color craze nr 22 and 61
Black acrylic paint get it here
000 size brush get it here
White half pearls 1mm get it here
Lace stickers (i got them in born pretty lucky box) get it here
White acrylic powder get it here
Black rhinestones get it here
Top coat

Tips:

- don't cluster the dots on your nail because it will look chaotic after you set the rhinestones in the center of the bows
- dont use the type of brush I used to make the bows. Mine is just a simple brush, not a brush for acrylic powder. I dont know why I dont own some yet
- press very good on the stickers and make sure you catch no air bubbles or it will lift
- the rest of the stickers can be used if you put them back on the sheet. Make sure you don't touch the sticky part too much
-use 2-3 layers of top coat. this type of design needs to be encapsulated
