Sakura river bank- landscape nails

Hello everyone!

I entered this contest from born pretty store that has for theme "Spring", so I thought what can scream spring more than bloomed cherry trees.

It took me a lot of patience to do these nails. they're fully done in acrylic paint, with base coat under, and finished with a matte top coat.

If you like my design please vote for it in a comment using your google account or facebook (annonymous won't be counted). My entry is Nr 38 , you only have to comment with "nr 38" in the comment section here:
http://bornprettystore.blogspot.com/2015/04/vote-for-2015-spring-inspired-nail-art.html
Thank you so much

You can't really see from the photos is matte cause of the cuticle oil that's going on, but I am really satisfied with my 4-5h work in between sealing and painting.

I done a full landscape of a river bank with cherry trees on a side, and a field of poppies and dandelions on the other. It goes on 4 nails, one continuing on the other.

I used a 0000 kolinsky brush and no water. When cleaning the color off the brush I touched a paper towel and then grab more paint, so the colors won't mix or thin out.

I hope you like them and if you want, drop me a vote on their blog page when the voting stars!

Kitty nail art and glitter review

Hello everyone!

Today's post is about kitties all the way! Cause who doesn't like kitties?

Bornprettystore.com recently released a plate featuring a lot of cats, that I was lucky to receive from Nicole in a small giveaway they organised.

I used the reversed stamping technique to color their bellies white.

On my accent nail I used a new glitter they put out not long ago that is stunning!. This one is extremely fine, but warning, if you have the bad luck to get it all over your hands like I do, it will get everywhere, face, hair, clothes.

But, I just like my stuff sparkle I suppose.

You can find this glitter here in a variety of 12 beautiful metalic colors.

This glitter sparkles even in the worst illuminated areas! It's silver with no additional tones to it. Just pure silver glitter. It comes in a small jar but I'm not quite sure what the quantity is. In any way it comes with a lot of product that will suffice for many uses, great especially with acrylic mixes or mixed with UV gel.

The second option is what I used in this design.  I preferd to mix a little glitter in a drop of UV top coat. I then applied it over a layer of silver shimmery polish and curred for 2min. I then whiped the nail with non acetone remover, stampped the full pattern and sealed.

Polishes for this design are:

The plate I used is plate BP 59 from BPS.

Overall this design can be pretty time consuming if you don't have multiple stampers laying around. They're 8 total kitties on my nails, and 2 full patters stamped in the traditional way. But is definately a catchy nail art  combined with the pink polish and the glitter.

I hoped you enjoyed them as much as I do! And if you want to go ahead and grab some nail art things from the thousands available from BPS, you can use my code below for a 10% discount, with no minimum order and free shipping.

Anchor&Heart new indie polish swatches!

Hello everyone!

Many of you might know about that amazing giveaway that ms_sparkle_polish hosted on rafflecopter few weeks ago, the one with a ton of sponsors.

Well, I happened to be one of the lucky winners, and I got paired with the very talented maker of Anchor & Heart Laquer.

The indie brand is located in Portland, and it will be released on May 15th!!

Until then I have 2 beautiful prototypes to show you, that hopefully you'll get your hands on soon, A bright pink and a purple that that going to be on my nails a lot this coming summer.

First prototype is a bright pink, very creamy and extremely easy to apply! If all the store brands would learn how to make polishes that actually GLIDE on your nail, the world would be at pace.

I got this effect in 2!! coats. It is fully opaque by the time the second coat is applied.

This adorable polish is full of shimmer, that sparkles almost holographic. I took a macro shot of the polish so you can see how beautiful it is.

Honestly I'm not happy with the way my photos for this polish came out, just because it's artificial light and it does not do it justice, BUT I will have a design coming up soon featuring this polish and........kitties! where I will make sure I give you outdoors experience when it comes about the sparkle of this polish.

The second prototype, it's a beautiful creamy purple that I am absolutely in love with. It has tiny purple and blue flakes and glitter that makes is dance in sunlight. I actually had some trouble taking photos because of how the irridescent glitter reflects. It changes from purple to almost fuqsia depending on how the light hits.

I got this look with 2 coats only. It was extremely easy to apply, no streaks. And here's a macro shot of the polish to see how rich it is.

Both polishes are fast dry and extremely good quality. I personally look forward to more and more creations from Anchor & Heart. I will leave bellow the instagram where you can follow the maker and where you will get all the updates to when the line will be released and how to get them!

Hope you enjoyed it!

Anime nail art

Hello everyone!

Hope everyone had a great easter this year and you're enjoying the spring as much as I do.

Today I will show you an anime design that I absolutely love. BPS sent me this great plate to show you. I was soooo happy when I found this full anime portrait on it. I wish they would put out more anime plates that we can customize because they're so much fun!

The plate is BP32. You can find it and the other plates in the collection on www.bornprettystore.com

Is one of the most original and fun plates in my collection. I used 2 patterns from it for this design, the anime girl and the full heart pattern.

Polishes:

  • Broadway Nails- "snow white"
  • WNW megalast- "silver lake"
  • Spoiled by WNW- "i have no reception"
  • WNW wild shine- "hallucination"
  • BPS stamping polish black
  • BPS stamping polish white
I also used this set of 12 acrylic paints to color the pattern.

I made some step by step photos so here's the steps on getting this beauty colored.
  1. Polish you nail with a light color. I used white
  2. Stamp the pattern and clean anything you don't want.
  3. Fill in the colors with acrylic paint or polish. You don't have to stay within the lines. When it dries up seal it with top coat on the stamper and let it dry.
  4. Gently peel the stamp with tweezers and turn it face up to see the result.
  5. Adjust it on the nail, cut the excess and seal with top coat.
  6. Stamp the rest of the nails and seal.

For the rest of the nails I stampped the heart pattern in the traditional way.

I like it so much. It's faster than it looks, especially if you have more stampers laying around. If you like anime art this plate is perfect to get your nail art to the next level.

Colorful easter nails

Hello everyone!

Even though I'm celebrating easter next week, since I live in USA I thought to do an easter mani anyway, so I came up with this colorful nail art design.

I used a stamping plate with fine details and a very soft stamping technique to make it look a little more faded.

I didn't want the design to pop up TOO much, so I used a thinner polish from LA colors, to stamp, instead of my stamping polish, The design is still visible, but not too striking.

Polishes used:

  • Sally Hansen Triple Shine "Clam up" (base color)
  • Kleancolor "Pastel purple"
  • Kleancolor "Pastel pink"
  • Kleancolor "Pastel yellow"
  • Kleancolor "Pastel blue"
  • Broadway nails high shine top coat

I used a sponge to dab random spots on my nails for the colorful effect. I tried to make it looked like colorful cracked shell, I think it came out pretty good.

I stamped the floral pattern over it and sealed it with top coat. Wait until it's completely dry until doing that, because some top coats tend to smear the design, especially the ones that are for glossy looks.

For the accent nails I used the wheel of studs from bornprettystore.com that I can honestly cannot find anymore.

The ones I used were the pink squares and round metallic studs.

The plate I used for the design is plate BP 17 from BPS.

You can use the code below for a 10% discount and free shipping with no minimum order, on the regular priced items.

I hope you liked today's design and I wish all of you a happy easter!
